BRIEF HISTORY OF THE URBAN SCHOOL OF COLOMBIA GIRLS IN THE YEAR OF 1980

January 21 The day kicked off the activities of teachers, kicking off the ratings and the adjustment of tuition for all groups.From 29 to January 31 educators met to begin educational planning.The 4th of February began the classes with all students.

Due to the need to create new spaces for education in the year 1962 the town bought girardotana for a plot of land at the point Called "the chumbimbo" (current location of the institution) to the widowd Ana Mejia Botero, destined for public education for a girls' schoolto be built with money from the Alliance for Progress (U.S. supportfor Latin American countries). By Ordinance No. 23 December 26, 1962, WAS CREATED to Girardota Urban School for Girls. The firstdirector of the institution Was The Reverend Mother Mary Josephine.
The departmental assembly With The Ordinances 23 and 28, 1962school building, Given the name of "urban school girls Colombia" to our institution. The new physical plant Entered service in February1964.
